Turning Plastic Waste Into School Bags: A New Path for Underprivileged Students in Nigeria
A first of its kind in Nigeria! Students should not be left behind because of financial constraints. We are redefining the entire concept of waste in our communities.
First, they are sensitized on environmental sustainability and the impact of waste on our environment. Then, they are trained on recycling and creative reuse. After that, we introduce a token-based system where collected plastic waste can be exchanged for eco-friendly products. This is designed specifically for young students from low-income backgrounds, helping them feel included and valued.
If waste is seen as value, something that can support education, then communities begin to rethink both poverty and pollution, turning problems into solutions.
